Dr. Manhattan, is it so difficult to wear briefs?

I just watched Watchmen last Friday. And I was a little bit bothered by Dr. Manhattan - if he's so powerful and can think and do multiple things and tasks all at once, why can't he make sure he wears briefs EVERY TIME?

I've not yet seen the movie but isn't he the large blue man? I would think that he doesn't need to wear underwear because well, he's not really there-he's a restored matter. (Not sure how to put it into words).

But his ding dong was showing... and it's not like it was showing the whole time. There were just some times when he "forgets" to dress himself up!

Thanks for the BR. I still am waiting for The Watchmen to come on ON Demand, but as soon as it does we're watching lol. Hope you're over your shock of the blue man lol. Namaste-Anora

The point behind Dr. Manhattan is that he is disassociating from humanity so he feels no need to wear clothes and stops wearing them.

he does, when eh goes fighting, but i'm not bothered by him as much as i'm bothered by the rape scene or the love scenes, i can understand if dr. manhattan is too busy, but the 3 scenes are way over the top...

I think in this case... he feel that he is a higher being... and does not feel any shame about being naked... so no need to use underware... or any type of clothing... i haven't watched this movie... but i sure hope i will get the time this week...

Yeah I thought about that "lack of malice" or of embarrassment. I hope you like it! I didn't quite :P

Dr. Manhattan - in all the glory:P
Haha, most people were bothered by this but it's only natural when you think about it. The primary purpose of clothing is to make us warm. He doesn't need that. He said that he doesn't feel cold or warm anymore. After all, he walked on the surface of the sun. As demigod, he doesn't feel ashamed and always acts by logic anyway. In the beginning, he was wearing clothes and even superhero costume, but he abandoned them as the time passed. He only wears clothes at formal meetings.

i feel for you, it's like an unecessary part of the story. its like instead of concentrating on the movie, you cant help but be distracted. same with the love scenes and the uneeded gore, the watchmen has a lot of mature unimportant content that they shouldve removed.
