My Husband Is The BEST Cook In The World!!!!!! |
|
YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He made us these Thai meatballs in peanut sauce with penne noodles. The meatballs themselves were just plain old meatballs made of the basic ingredients, but he cooked them in Thai peanut sauce in our slow-cooker, and made pasta separately, as he knows I like the sauce poured over my pasta, and not mixed with it. OH WOW those things were good. I ate so much I fell asleep while watching TV. LOL It takes a hell of a lot to fill me up, but these did the trick. I couldn't even finish my plate. There are only the two of us, so it didn't matter that we each out pur own leftovers back in the crock pot to keep them warm. LOL We're probably going to end up eating them for a midnight snack, or breakfast tomorrow.
OH MY GOD these were good. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love meatballs, and I love thick sauces. He got me hooked on the Thai peanut stuff when we were in AZ. At a restaurant we liked down there they served it as salad dressing. That peanut sauce could probably be the base of a soup too. OH WOW it was good.

3. playapal (804) | 10 months ago | Well, my husband is a good cook too. He makes 90% of the dinners at our house. However he has never made peanut sauce! I have never had it with meatballs but it sounds delish. I have had peanut sauce with chicken at Thai resturants in Playa Del Carmen, never meatballs. And noodles........ I don't know how it could get much better. Would he be willing to share his recipe?

danishcanadian (20245) | 10 months ago | I will direct him to this discussion tomorrow, and perhaps he'll post his own myLot discussion with the recipe, and link it here.

Vladilyich1 (1189) | 10 months ago | Unfortunately, MyLot doesn't want you to post recipes and will delete the discussions. This has happened to me before. I notice that they only delete discussions right before the end of the month so that you don't make payout. It's frustrating to lose fifty cents just before the close of the month.

4. zweeb82 (1446) | 10 months ago | Wow!~ You are so blessed to have such a husband!~ Hahaa I think my story is the other way round as my wife is also a very good cook who needs my convincing at times!~ Hahaha She's been cooking this Chinese dish ( so we are Chinese anyway, haha ), erm, it's a Nyonya dish actually. Nyonya is basically Eurasian - when the Portuguese colonized Malacca & they married the local Chinese ( who originally came from China ), haha, yes, very long history. Well, anyway, it's called "tau yu bak" which is in hokkien ( a Chinese dialect ). It's pork cooked in soya sauce with bean curd, pork, soya skin, Chinese mushrooms & pepper. Yummy!~ Can you imagine she's cooked it for 3 weeks straight!~ We've been having that for that long!~ Ahaha!~ Yummy!~ Tau yu bak, anyone? Haha~!

Vladilyich1 (1189) | 10 months ago | That sounds great. I'm fortunate that there is a great Asian market only three blocks from the apartment that has absolutely great prices (cheaper than the supermarket). They carry food and ingredients from all over Asia, from Thailand through Vietnam to China and Japan. It is easier and less expensive for me to prepare Asian style food, but I try to vary what it is each day.

6. Ritchelle (1833) | 10 months ago | do you know that they say that the size of the human brain is bigger in males than in females? that is why most achievers in every field is a male. that includes chefs. anyway, that is the reason maybe why they should be the ones bringing the bigger paycheck;)

danishcanadian (20245) | 10 months ago | LOL You're kidding about the paycheck, right? I think women and men need to be paid equally for equal work.
I don't think a lot of guys use their full brains, Lucky for me, I married a GENIUS who does!!!

Vladilyich1 (1189) | 10 months ago | OK. Time for me to put the meatballs in the freezer and make a batch of potato soup. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I haven't made it in a couple of years. I used to make it all the time. I add celery seed to mine and for my individual bowl, I'll put in about 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne. Mine comes out almost like soupy mashed potatoes:)
