Erasing The Background After Creating Button in Adobe Photoshop  email this discussion to a friend?

kuco84 (6) 3 years ago

Hello, I am desperate need of help. I am so new to Photoshop and I am creating buttons, but have looked and looked and I am frustrated that I cannot find out how to erase the background (white or grey or transparent) so I can then just save the button as a .*Jpeg and then import it where I need to (w/out all that white space). I can't believe i have searched all over found nothing (5 hours)It should be something so simple, yet I can't find it. Please help me! Thanks.

Hi Kuco...

Its so easy if you want to delete the background of certain image.. You can use eraser to delete it or the pen tool..

Well, honestly I really don't understand what you were trying to say if what background do you want to delete.. Can you please upload the image so that I can see what were you trying to say.. If you don't mind..If you need some help, I'm always welcome to help you.. sad

I am not quike catch you either, so I suppose that you want to get button with transparent backgound.
If you have drawn a button on the background layer, and you want to delete the colors around the button, I think you should first unlock the background layer, and then make the places you want to delete selected, and press the "delete" button on your keyboard.
If you have drawn the button on a new layer, you just need to delete the background layer directly, and you will get what you want.

If you made it yourself, delete the layer with the background, or if you were so smart to do everything on one layer, select the background using the magic wand, press delete (twice if needed), and export it to PNG or GIF. Exporting it to JPEG is not a good idea with buttons, since JPEG adds automatically a white background.
If you downloaded the button and want to remove the background, select the background using the magic wand, press delete and export it to PNG or GIF. I hope this was helpful ^^

First, make the background layer invisible, then save it. If you save it as JPEG, it will always have a background. If you want to save an image without a background, you should save it in either GIF or PNG format. Happy myLotting! happy

Hello man you are trying to save your image in JPG format for button .its is not worth doing and second minus point is that if you are create slightly rounded buttons rather than square than it dont save in jpg as is covers transparent space with white image save it in pN or GIF. For deleting the background For types of technques
1:-Bys elcting with crop tool
2:-by selecting withpen tool
3:-by deleting with magic eraser
4:-By extarct filter in filters
5:- by color range tools
