When you open your mailbox, there were full of advertisement papers. Majority of them are selling electronic stuff. They also provided rebate form, if you purchase some electronic device, so and so. Usually the rebate might take up to 4 to 6 weeks to process the paperwork. Majority of them, even you fill out the form, there was minimal chance you will get your money back.
According to analysis, those chain retail stores taking the chance, either you as customers won't get around the time to fill out the rebate form; or you even send out the form, you won't get your money back. In general sense, we perceived a certain product come with a rebate price might be a lot cheaper. We might consider buying with this urge. What do you think of that?

The last time I went for a refund, it was for a cell phone. We got upgraded phones and a refund of $150. This was about four years ago.
I told the sales person that I did not want to do the refund unless I could talk directly to the refund people. I contacted them and we worked out a plan for getting the refund.
I filled out all the paperwork, double checked it with the company to make sure I had all the parts. I then made copies of everything for my file.
The next step was to mail the offer. I sent the offer certified mail, return receipt required. In other words someone had to personally sign for what I sent and then the post office sent me back a postcard with proof that they received the paperwork along with what date they received it.
I waited a few days and called the processing area and asked how long it would be until my paperwork was processed. They were surprised when they tried to say they did not know because they did not know when they received it. That is when I offered the information of the date on my post office card. Suddenly they knew exactly where the paperwork was and when I would receive my refund.
It came to my mailbox just as promised. A lot of work, but it was $150.00. This system may not work always, but it worked for this.
