I read from a science article saying that a company is contemplating to build a city the size of several football field in the pacific ocean along California coast and also see several artist imagined picture of floating city in Dubai. It sound like a really exciting idea, but i am sure it is going to be very costly to live in such a city since you not have to own a car, but also must have some sorts of personal sea faring vehicle in order to go to any mainland for a visit and take care of all sorts of personal matters. So will you live in this type of city where it is not build on an island but rather on structure like off shore oil rigs for every day living if given the chance, if not, why you don't like that?

No I would not be interested in living in a city that was built underneath the water. It probably sounds stupid but I have terrible claustrophobia and I know I would never get it out of my mind that I was not able to breath freely Unless I took some type of vessel up to the surface...I would probably die from the mental stress! And of course I would always think that someone would forget to close the opening or the "door" to the city would somehow burst like some times happens in a submarine and then I know I would drown...I truly did not have that in mind when I have thought of dying before!! ;)

Actually it is not underneath ocean, but above the surface. the details of how it's going to build is unclear, as they are still in the planning and designing stage. According to artist rendering you can find in my profile photo section, it is like a huge football stadium consist of several hundred acres floating on the surface in a fix location except it is not able to move around like a ship or not rest on land like island, It is one of a kind ever build on earth (or ocean). I can imagine it will be extremely costly to live in a place like this since many of the construction expenditures will pass down to the dweller in the form of higher tax or housing and living costs, not mentioning how well the city can handle the destructive power of hurricanes or typhoon in an ocean . Thank for your response.

I will not deny it will be fun to live in a city like that except not during hurricane season. Who know how well design that it is able to hold water and prevent getting blow away. If i can afford to live in this city, then i should be able to buy myself a high speed boat to get me in and out anytime i want instead of depend on the ferry or bridge.

Oh! I get it now! I just looked at the photo on your profile. My goodness it is unusual looking isn't it? And you have to be right, I can't imagine how much money it would cost to live there...much less build it! Well now that I know it is on Top of the water I like it, personally, I am positive I could never afford to live there but if I had the money...and they got the natural disasters problems half way fixed, the yes, I just might possibly live there! Needless to say I like unusual things! ;)

Actually it is going to be very expensive to live in it, you don't get to try it except pay for it with limited number only according to the builder. By the way, if you know the difference between small islands interconnected with canals and open ocean , then you will know the reason why not.. LOL!!! Thank for your response.
