Why do you think many people are afraid of friday the 13th?

When we hear the date to be friday the 13th, we usually have a bad feeling will happen during this day. many of us avoid going out to far away places, fearing they might meet an accident. Something bad will happen during these day they say, but whats with friday the 13th, that we fear. Its merely a number, with no meaning to it, but why is it that we fear it, as much as we could we do not use this number, whether in scheduling something special like a party, birthday, or anything precious events we host. We usually connect it to being unlucky. Why do we think friday the 13th is a bad day for us?

They should not be. Friday the 13th is not a bad day. It's a good day, and since 13 is my lucky number, I have no problems with it.

I sure its your lucky number Rogue because you have 13 on your name too. So why do you consider that number 13 is lucky for you? Any ideas why, others consider 13 or friday the 13th to an unlucky day, what could be the reason behind it? Thanks for the comment

It has just always seem like a lucky number for me, and I think it is because things have happened to me on odd numbered days, and on odd years.
