something under the house

She's driving us crazy, there is some critter under our house, the dog thinks it's in the heating ducts. And she may be right but we can figure how it got there. We do get mice in the house sometimes and the old cat is just to old to try to catch them so we have to set the traps. We both hate that. Does your dog do things like this?

Could be a raccoon or maybe a skunk. Skunks love to get under houses. My dog goes crazy when it catches the scent of a bear or a cougar which is pretty common around here.

I'm sure it's not a skunk maybe a raccoon Skunks around here really smell all the time, they are not like California desert skunks who only smell really bad when upset. Thanks

Too much!! I have them in a lot cause the barking never stops. First, there are possums living under a shed we have, then the deer know the dogs can't get them so they come up and look at the 'zoo' animals in the fence. The dogs dislike both sets of critters and bark constantly. Sigh.
