idk what to do im tryin so hard to help her but she refuses to listen to me...

Me and my best friend met two years ago..when i had no one else. It was like she was sent from above to save me, and she did. She saved me from my loneliness and from all my pain. And the whole while she has been with another guy..someone who ignores her and treats her awful. In the beginning i didnt mind i thought she could take care of herself ya know? But as time when on and he didnt change i began to notice that she become numb to it and just excused it. So i started defending her to him, and he hated that. He hated that now he had someone to stand in his way from being awful to her. I helped her through her drinking prob, i spent time with her while he ignored her, i spent time with her kids to give her a break..for two years. We were inseperable, until a few days ago. I asked him where she was and he told me he beat the hell outta her and what was i gonna do to him? And i told him that he had better be prepared for what im gonna do cause i love her and i will do anythin to protect her. and he shut up and left. i called her sister to make sure she was ok 3 times to check on her and i was up all night worryin about her. i talk to her the next day, and she tells me never to talk to her again..that its my fault that things go wrong with them. and now he refuses to let her see me. I dont know what to do shes my best friend i told her id never give up on her and she said she loved me..but how can i help her if she wont help herself? im goin crazy worrying about her

My sister and I have the same problem. We were always very close. Always able to tell each other how we felt, but she has a boyfriend who treats her terribly. Yet everytime I tell her that, it ends in a huge fight. The last time I told her what I thought, she decided I had no right to invade her personal life, and she hasn't really spoken to me since. it hurts me that she's doing this, but there's nothing I can do. You can't change someone's mind until they see the light on their own. I learned that the hard way. Your friend will hopefully see that you were only trying to help, but until then, there's nothing you can do.
