Here are some of the best ways to use Google Adsense to make money.
Niche Websites - Make a bunch of different niche websites with Adsense on them.
Make sites using high paying keywords - Do a little research to find out what keywords advertisers are paying the most to use with Google Adwords and build sites based on those keywords.
Get highly targeted traffic to your website or blog - If you get high target traffic to your your website or blog the more clicks you will get on your ads and the more targeted traffic you get the more clicks you will get.

I agree about the niche websites!! I have several. One thing about the keywords, is that you should pick ones with little direct competition. If you pick a high paying keyword with 1 million direct competitors you are unlikely to get many hits, whereas if you pick one with under 1000 direct competitors you are more likely to be found. To increase your rank in searches you need high page rank back links.
