Do you ask your grandmother questions?

I lost my grandmother when I was eighteen years old. I loved her so much that I cannot describe it. There were questions that I had on my mind back then but I never asked her. Now there are things that I often wonder why they happened or why she did some things the way she did. I also never asked her about her parents or brothers and sisters even though I know there were many, I don't know much else. Do you guys ask your grandparents questions? If not, could you share why you don't? I didn't because I didn't want to upset her as some of the questions surely would have. Now I am 45 years old and still don't understand many things that I wish I did. Your thoughts please?

Hi there!
I'm sorry to hear that. I ask questions from my grandmother from time to time and we have an open relationship. We don't find it hard to communicate to each other. Maybe there are some things that we will never know just like in your situation.

Yes, I think though that it is important to be able to talk to your grandparents and vice versa. They have a lot of knowledge to share. I think my problem was that I thought she was so innocent. Yeah, right, she had 7 children. How innocent could she really have been haha... Anyway, my kids seem to have pretty open discussions with my mother even though they sometimes don't come out the way everyone wants them to, but my kids won't ever have an questions, that's for sure. Ask the questions if you have them and know about your family line as much as possible. There may come a day you wish you had.

haha, yes she does indeed!! At least you don't have to wonder what a nut case family you grew up with:-) Love you too!
