Do you? I think it is very cute when they climb up onthe couch and lie down and sleep. But since somebody in my house doesn't like it so I only let him does it once in a while when that somebody is not home. When he gets gross from the snow or rain, I won't let him or wipe the dirt off first.

hello mermaidivy my dog, Doughnut is an inside dog, so she pretty much will lay where that she wants to around the house like that. i will never know where that i might happen to see Doughnut laying. lol she gets on the couch, the love seat, the foot stool, and in all three of the beds, then when somebody goes downstairs, she as well likes to follow to see what that they are up to, lol, when that she goes downstairs, she will hop upon the couch that we have downstairs. so everybody in our family has gotten used to the dog just wanting to lay wherever that she can. but when Doughnut goes outside and if she does get dirty, then she isn't allowed on anything, until that she is clean again. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

When our Dachshund was still with us, he was allowed on the couch. We would have to put blankets down, though, because his tongue was too long for his mouth and if we didn't put the blankets on the couch we would always have to wipe spots off of the couch where his tongue would rest. Our Rottie and Labrador are not allowed on the couch. The biggest issue is that they shed a lot of hair just by sitting in one location. Our furniture is dark, so the yellow lab fur tends to really show up. That, and we do not want the fur all over us if we sit on the couch to eat, or are wearing nice clothes, or have company over.

ah hahahahaha it is funny - put the blankets on the couch we would always have to wipe spots off of the couch where his tongue would rest. My puppy is a lab too, he has been shedding like crazy, I don't let him get too close when I have dressy clothes on too, do't want to get all covered by his hair. Thanks for sharing! ^_^
