What activities did your children do during the last school break?

I have no more small kids..but the child in me would love to learn to play the guitar

One of the most favorite things we did for summer break is enroll in the local college's summer camps for kids. If you live near a college, they may have all sorts of summer camps for kids of all ages. We participated in basketball camps, theater camps, etc. This is a wonderful way to introduce the college atmosphere to a child and help them understand why college would be a good choice later on.

Last summer my daughter was 7 and she stayed home with me and helped me babysit the kids in my daycare. She spent every afternoon in the pool for hours at a time.

This summer she signed up for soccer. I am imagining that she will be in the pool during the daytime and at soccer in the evenings. We are also taking a weeks vacation this summer.
We go camping almost every weekend in the summer too, so she spends her time in the lake swimming or on the Kyack.

Our school offered baseball, basketball, football, and soccer weekly camps. So that took up 4 weeks. Check your local recreation center, ours here also offers different camps. They also got to spend a week at a baseball camp hosted by the Charleston Riverdogs, a minor league baseball team. They thought that was great, they were getting taught by professional baseball players, the price also included a free pass to a game. I know Savannah's baseball team also does this, so you might even check to see if you have a local minor team in your area that offers this.

my children are grown w/children of their own. when they were young they did everything that was available around here which is not a whole lot. both my boys were into sports & i think that is really good for boys. i;m not leaving out the girls i just didn't have any, wish i did. i think sports teaches them discipline & alot of others things, some good, some bad lol. i think keeping them busy is real important.

Our summer doesn't start till just a little into June.
My son seems perfectly happy terrorizing the neighborhood, he just hops on his bike or scooter and is usually at one of 7 or 8 friends' houses.
We are lucky to have a free splash park here.
We also do alot of programs at the library, they have all sorts of free stuff to do.
I usually sign them up for a class through the park district,,,it is not free but usually not too expensive, although this year I am not sure I can do it.
We haven't gotten into the sports yet, mostly because of the expense and also it is hard for me to be everywhere at all times. With how hot it gets here, playing sports hard, in the heat, doesn't seem like a good idea. but we do alot of cycling together, also.

i send my kid for swimming lessons and also for drawing.she didnot want anything to do with studies otherwise we were thinkin to send her for calligraphy.(she is 6 year old)

My children went to a summer camp. They go on field trips zoo baseball games. Musemes History centers tennis lessons bowling swimming. Ect... Not sure what there doing this year therefore my oldest daughter is to old for that camp.

We had a very interesting summer break.
Our oldest grandaughter lives with us and she is very much into sports. So for the first month of break we were finishing uo softball and then we had the all star games.
We have a swimming pool, so she and her friends of course played it it alot.
Then when August got here it was about 3 weeks until school would be starting she had to go to basketball camp for two weeks and we also had out county fair that we go to every year.
Summer sure seems to go by alot quicker than winter. Seems like every year we plan on more things to do, but somehow we never find the time to do them.
Oh Well, there is always this year!!!!!
