Paris is Doing It's Part For Electric Vehicles  

I think this is a very good project that should be supported and followed by other countries like the US who uses a lot of gasoline and all those non-renewable energy. It does not only save us from over dependence to oil but it saves us from more greenhouse gases dumped into the atmosphere. I hope there will a much faster transfer of technology from different countries to make more impact not only on a regional basis but in worldwide scale.

I am glad to see that big cities, like Paris are doing what they can to encourage the use of electric cars. I'm sure it helps the polution. Here in the US we are too dependant on oil, but due to the spread out nature of the population it will be hard to implement electric cars. I live 30 miles from the nearest shopping area, and this is not uncommon. While even the most basic electric car can go 60miles without a charge, I often go much further than that. If those quick charge stations we put in, and worked well, then I could see more people changing over, since it would be the same as stopping at the gas pump. The big issue here is that a large majority of the power produced in the US is from fossil fuels, and with power loss over the lines and in conversion to DC for the car, more polutants are put into the air per watt than it would take powering the car with gas.
