How to market and get traffic to one's blog?

A lot of us want to earn money online but its real hard to find out how to get traffic as well as referrals for your favorite programs...i am still in the process of developing my blog a matter of fact i choose the same blog template that you have chosen,i removed the nav bar because it don't always match the color of the template...yes you are right we should help one another earn money but people are so selfish maybe when i get my blog up and running we could swap referrals.Try free traffic exchanges, there are 1000's of them and referral sites join forums which allows you to post your referral links use myspace and other social networks etc. these are a few ways to get traffic as well as referrals i have read here on mylot where people have receieved tons of traffic but still wasn't making any money from their adsense ads one thing i found out about making money with adsense is like everything else you gotta know what you are doing to succeed...

Hi, I have been researching this for the last month and can't seem to find a information that I can understand. It all sounds so complicated for a beginner. I did start a discussion on "How to promote my blog" and a few people gave some good advice. Check it out on my profile as there are a lot of information and free sites to join to promote your blog. For example Stumbleupon and Twitter which I've joined. I'll check out your blog as I like looking at peoples blogs from Mylot. Take a look at mine if you like, its not that good but I am complete beginner!

There are two routes you could go down if you are after getting traffic for your blog. You could participate in a traffic swap or actually buy traffic, but this has the knock on effect of firstly using up bandwidth with visitors who may have no interest in actually browsing your site and secondly it can lead to you getting banned from using adsense, if you are already using it.

The second way takes a little effort but will ensure you mainly get traffic which will be interested in your blog. What you need to do is get yourself known with in the area which your blog covers. This means reading blogs on similar topics to yours and then responding to posts with comments which show an understanding of the subject. By doing this you will gain a lot more targetted traffic and if people see that your blog has something of interest to say they will tell others.

It's also important to make sure that your posts are original, interesting and that you post regularly. Doing this will help build up a following of returning visitors which are just as important as getting new visitors.

friends in school or work can be part of it. though they don't have a blog on their own, they are considered as well. advertise your web address verbally.

another thing is visit other blogs as well, spend time reading -- leave a comment and expect them or at least some of them to drop by yours later.

One simple way to get more traffic and make more money from your blog is to join forums that enables signature. This way you can place the link to your blog in the signature. People will use the link and visit your blog. If your blog is good and helpful, people will surely come to your blog again.

I've got four blogs and all of them don't have enough traffic before.. yay! i don't know why but my hubby told me that i should change my blogs' templates so I did.. you need to pick one template that suits your blog, something readable/understandable, eye catching and google adsense or blog traffic friendly.. after a month, i have noticed a great change.. more and more people are visiting my blogs because of that.. you should also try to link exchange with other bloggers(leave messages at the cbox, make nice comments, etc).. use entrecard to plug your website, etc..good luck

Well.Participate in blog forums add your blog to blog directory.Once you get good back links and page rank then you will get organic traffic from search engines and also earn money.I have done that and succeded.

I am so trying to learn about blogging. I have two blogs and both are registered with Ad Sense, but just are not generating for me. I read about these bloggers tha are making money hand over fist and I'm just stumped. I need a Dr. Suess tutorial...lol
