download music sites

I have a friend that would like to download some old songs,and would like to know of a good clean free music download site.I had got some from when napster was still going but haven't got any sense,so could not tell her of a site.Please help me tell her of a good site that she won't get a virus from

It's not even so much a virus risk as it is all the good sites were free and now every time you find anything it's not free at all. first thing they want is your credit card info.

You can get some good music from limewiere, or ares galaxy. Try those sites, and just download their software. You then are good to go.

Mininova is pretty good. It has a lot of varied content and I have never gotten a virus or anything. You have to know what you are looking for though. It is not easy to browse because people can name their files what they want to. You can search by type of music, which makes it a bit easier.

Also, you will need a download client. I like Azureus.
