 I am thinking about converting to Islam. The person that I am with hates the idea. I have been studying Islam for awhile and want to convert. I think they are afraid that I would leave them for a Muslim if I converted. He says it is because he is such a Christan, but he does pray or anything like that. My mom thinks that I should just get rid of him. She thinks that he is holding me down anyway. Is this going to be the last straw for us? Should I hide who I am praying to?

Concentrate on doing good deeds after your conversion which is two simple statements: There is no deity worthy of worship other than Allah, and I testify that Mohammed is His Servant and Messenger. That is it in English. Once you have said that within your heart, you are a Muslim. This wipes the slate clean with Allah of any sins committed before the declaration. Your soul is clean before Him without stain. The, concentrate on learning how to pray and doing good deeds for the sake of God. The rest will take care of itself. No need to please anyone other than Allah, but you will find yourself being drawn to like minded believers and away from those who would detract from your walk of faith. Ma Salaama. Religion is the cause of all wars and this just proves it, you must ask yourself what is right, and the person you are with maybe right, I don't know but does it matter what your religion is, if I was studying a religion, I wouldn't wnat to convert to it though.
