Hydreangeia question  | |  Our local Aldi's has potted plants for $3.99 ea and one is a small hydrangia the size of a large mum plant.
My question since it doesn't have a label to state the variety....
would it work if I bought the plants and then once planting season starts if they live plant them in my yard? As the plants even at walmart are atleast $20. What do you think? I'm in USDA zone 5 by the way.

I was thinking for $3.99 on a younger plant it would be perhaps worth the risk. As even if you buy the regular 1-2gallon size at the store you still take a chance in it's survival into the next growing season ya know?
As I've bought potted roses and I've bought the ones with just the rootball and they did as well as each other and the potted were 3x the cost. | |
