My cousin has arrived yesterday from England to have his holiday here. He is a big boy and he is so lovely! A well behaved kid too, now my aunt-- john's mum said that she wants to get rid of her dummy so she will try it here because there she knows there are more foods here to get his attention.. I was asked to baby sit him while waiting for the person who's goin to look after him.. I did try to get his dummy off his mouth and it was ok but 20 mins later he was looking for it... What could be don to take his attention off from the dummy? He eats rice and fruits.. He's not picky on foods.

lol =D Kids will always be kids.. I guess there's nothing much one can do but to let him outgrow it himself.. Distractions ot food temptations will be good, but it can only solve the problem temporary.. Maybe he will learn it himself, when he has got frenz playing aorund with him..
Once he's being teased at for always having a dummy, maybe he will discard it away for as a boy, he has got a pride.. lol =D

For those that didn't quite figure this out I think dummy = pacifier or maybe bottle.
I was really fortunate. All my kids kind of weaned themselves from both of these. So I really can't help other than to say just take it away and get his attention on other things as much as possible without too much trauma. If it seems really too traumatic at the time give it back and try another time.
