I don't think I want her to leave. I like her. And the show needs a blonde.

Between continued reports of unrest on the "Grey's Anatomy" set, comments made by a fellow cast member and a storyline that has Katherine Heigl's character -- Izzie Stevens -- riddled with cancer and facing a less than 5% survival rate, fans have pretty much figured that Heigl will not be returning to the show next season.
Not so fast, says the actress.
At a studio party celebrating the series' 100th episode, Heigl says she herself isn't certain of Izzie's fate but that she's game for more if the show's producers are."I don't know if I live or die," Heigl tells the AP."I was assuming that [I die] at one point and I got a lot of shrugged shoulders and shakes of the head, so I don't know if that's a yes or a no. No one will tell me and I don't know how this is going to go."Speculation has been that Heigl is ready to leave "Grey's" to pursue a movie career, but the actress is happy with only doing films during her TV hiatuses for now."I don't know if I want to continue for five years working 12 months a year, but I can take at least another year of two."The star of "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses" can next be seen in this summer's romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth.

I wonder if she and Alex will be the ones getting married. They said they were will be a wedding, but that it will be a surprise. Well a Meredith/Derek wedding would not be a surprise. Katherine might really want to consider honoring her contract, and with a smile. It is her life and her career, but shunning the very thing that made her famous could be a mistake. I saw 27 Dresses. And while charming, it wasn't all that good. And it pains me to say because I like James Marsden.
I read online at TVGuide's website, that she said she will be happy to honor her contract. That doesn't sound like what she said a year ago, but maybe she is happier with her storyline now? All I know is that they say T.R. Knight is even more likely to leave than Katherine. Unlike Ms. Heigl, I don't think T.R., as sweet as he appears to be, will have much of a career after Grey's.

I hope that Derek saves her! I really like the character of Izzy. She adds something dynamic to the show.
I am glad to read that she doesn't even know if she is leaving because I thought it was a done deal.
