Here in China,We have Tomb Sweeping Day(Qing Ming Jie),which was added as legal holiday together with Dragon Festival(Duan Wu Jie)and Mid_Autumn Day(Zhong Qiu Jie)last year. Tomb-Sweeping Day comes between spring plowing and summer weeding. Its on 5th,April this year, and we'll have three_day holiday including the weekend. The Tomb-Sweeping Day is a time to pay respects to one's ancestors and to tidy their gravesite. On Tomb-Sweeping Day, the whole family, young and old, go to the gravesite of deceased family members to burn incense and perform a ritual offering while clearing away plant overgrowth from the gravesite. Its also a family reunion day.In some parts of China, people also often fly kits on Tomb Sweeping Day,besides the traditions of honoring the dead. Kites can come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors. Designs could include frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, crabs, bats, and storks. What about your country?I love to learn more about traditional festivals in your area.Happy mylotting!
