I really hate that cell phone companies basically force you to keep a phone for such a long time before you can upgrade at a reduced price. You're on a contract with them paying them every month, and yet you can't get a new phone any time you want to for less than retail price? Lets face it, cell phones are getting more and more sophisticated, in turn getting more and more expensive, so any way that the cell phone companies would be willing to help would be great too. Plus look at how much money they're making on us because we're required to purchase a plan with a certain amount of any time minutes...which most of the time we never use, because nights and weekends are unlimited, mobile-to-mobile calls are unlimited...and now so many of the companies are implementing the "pick your free people" plans. It's unbelievable....Most people never break into their any time minutes, unless they're constantly on the phone during...I don't know about you all but I work during the day and don't really chat on the phone unless it's with family and they all the same company as me and it's at night....go figure!!!

well just go for an older phone instead of upgrading on a new phone so to speak. You can here in the uk get sim only deals with no contract only a 30 day notice period, means you have to keep your old phone. You can get 200 mins and 200 texts for less than £10. Not sure if they do that in the states, but thats the cheapest option than getting a new hand set and getting locked into a contract.
