Anyone heard anything about the Obama stimulus and when it is suppose to happen?

So I have been reading lately about Obamas stimulus. I read somewhere that working people are to be getting a raise on each paycheck, something like $7-8 and that ones on Social security or unemployment are also suppose to be getting more money. I read that the Social security recipients are going to be receiving a one time payment of $250.00 and that the unemployment recipients will receive their payment longer and just a bit more. Has anyone read anymore on this and if you have do you know when this is suppose to happen. I read the payroll people are suppose to start this on Wednesday but I am not sure when it would go into affect. Just wondering if anyone else had any better ideas of when this will all happen and if it really is going to happen?

I was also curious about this years stimulus check....so I did some research. From what I understand, President Obama is offering what is being called a "Making Work Pay" tax credit. Rather than giving out lump-sum checks to stimulate the economy, this year, the government is going to be taking out less taxes on your pay checks. The idea of this program is to give citizens this extra money little-by-little, hoping that they will spend this extra money throughout the year.

I don't know in what order they are going to make these stimulus payments. I receive my Social Security on the second Wednesday of every month and it is direct deposited to my bank. On Thursday I got a letter telling me that an additional $250 for my stimulus payment will be deposited to my bank account towards the end of May. Maybe they are doing it alphabetically because my last name begins with W. I guess we just have to be patient and wait and see what happens.
