what to give to a queen?

we are both from the philippines and there are a lot of products our country has that the Quenn (i presume) does not have. we can make her a crown made from coconut husk....or something like that. we can also make her a barot saya. that is if i am the one to visit the queen. Obama giving an Ipod is yet inappropriate, he has to think better than that.

I think a good gift would be a new check book.
Then she could write me a check, so I can get out of
my financial problems.
Then I would give her a beautiful Red Rose.

i dont think a queen deserves an Ipod. i dont think she will enjoy having something like that. a component will be more appropriate har har har. this is not eaay for a guy like us. specially me i suck when it comes to gift. i can not even think a gift for my wife then what more for the queen. this will be a nose bleed for me.

Let me briefly touch on the Obama-ipod fiasco. It doesn't even matter if Elizabeth II is queen or not. How old is she anyway? 80-something right? Queen or not, what would an elderly woman do with an ipod. Would you give your grandma an ipod? Nyahaha. I think that's basically why people reacted so much about Obama's faus paux.

If you're from another country and you're granted an audience with the queen of another kingdom, the most appropriate gift would probably be something that's a unique product of your country. It doesn't have to be practical, like you said, a queen has everything she needs. Just something that would remind her of your country. Obama may have thought i-pod is an American symbol, but it is just a digital version of Walkman, which is a Japanese invention. So maybe next time his advisers should do more research.

In all fairness, I heard that she asked for the iPod. When I don't know what to give someone I usually buy some of those scratch off Lottery tickets. I guess she wouldn't have much use for those though.
I think since they took their chef along, they should have made her some American food, like Chicken Wings and Apple Pie or something.
I hope he didn't download any illegal music on that thing before he gave it to her...

I have been wondering the same thing.The Ipod was something that I don't think she would have,and if he had put appropriate contents on it I would say it was an original gift.
I had also thought of a bouguet of flowers but she has fresh flowers cut everyday .

I don't know why people are saying the gift is inappropriate. Not only did the Ipod contain 40 Broadway songs that the Queen likes, it was also accompanied by a rare signed Richard Rogers song book. The Ipod also had footage of the Queen from her US visit. To me this seems like a pretty personal gift.

Another thing the Queen is old, but so what? Are older people not allowed to use electronic?? BTW this was not even her first ipod. My grandma is almost 80 and uses things like DVR, digital picture frame, digital camera. Once you get older it doesn't mean you have to forgo technology.

I am not sure what I would get the Queen. I am in Egypt now so maybe I would take here a piece of the pyramid...

You are right, giving the iPod to Queen Elizabeth II means nothing to her. As she can have many things and even the iPod may not suit her age. I think giving a hand-made craft which can represent USA to her is better.

This is a very good question of what would be a good gift for the queen. I think it would have to reflect what you thought of the queen. It would also have to be something that would mean something to her. This seems like more than just a difficult task. It would seem to be nearly impossible to pick the right item.

the queen could have any thing she wants . i would give her a nice treat with lots of spicy food so that she could remember it for a couple of years at least.
