Reading needs a lot of time |
|
One often wonders why one is not in a position to complete reading a book or an article in a specific time. And the answer is distraction. Often we get disctracted while reading a novel or newspaper. Many have the habit of reading while travelling and when the destination comes he or she suddenly stops whatever he or she is reading and gets down. The article or the book becomes incomplete as far as the act of reading is concerned. Therefore Reading is a kind of habit that requires sufficient time and no doubt that reading is the king of habits.

Same bus same route same scenery is a bit boring, and reading on the public transport is the one of the ways to buy time for useful purpose. I read whenever I travel on the bus or train, and I can complete 3 to 4 books in a week. So I dont agree that reading on a bus or train is a distraction. I treat it as time saver.

| 5. nanamag (15) | 9 months ago | A few months ago my neice had the wonderful idea of starting a book club. I was never one to join such things but, because I like being with my neices, my daughter and my sister in law, I said "why not". We have read two or three books now and I am thoroughtly enjoying it. Even when the book isn't one that I would have particularly chosen on my own. It is nice to read something different and then get together with some of my favorite people to discus it. I will admit, however, that we really don't discuss the books as much as we probably should. It is just really nice to get together with the girls once a month and chat. We talk about a lot of things but, the important thing is that we are reading.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed reading. My mom used to say the house could blow up and I wouldn't have known about it if I was reading a book. I take my book to the doctors, the hairdressers, even with me to sit in the drive-thru at the bank (I always seem to get in the slowest line so why not read instead of getting annoyed). So although I do not read a whole book in one sitting, I have been finishing them because of the book club.
