I'm the person who do the grocery shopping in my house. When it come to frozen food I'm used to be careful to look for the expiry date, since it's ED is usually short.
But when it comes to dry food I'm tend to get careless because usually they have longer ED periods. I buy a lot of food product for one month for the whole family and when I do shopping I took my 2 years old son with me, so it's not comfortable to spend a lot of time for checking the dry food ED one by one... LOL:) To minimize the risk of buying ED food product, I always shop at trusted hyper mart.
How about you ?

you know what gets me is when i go to the store and buy the product , of course i look at the experation date , but what gets me is you take it to your fridge or what have you and the experation date is coming about , and i want to throw it out , but someone always says " Oh what are you doing its still good !" like if its still good then why would they place an experation date on it , or like its past a week of the experation date but "its still good" that just bothers me lol

When I shop I usually don't check the expiration date. Most of the stuff that we get is used before it would expire. The only thing we really check would be the milk but to be honest we have never even gotten close to the expiration only because we love milk in our house and a gallon of milk will last only about 2-3 days in the house. We always have milk with dinner and then with the kids using it in their cereal or oatmeal it is always gone before it has the chance to expire.

So, you never had any experience purchasing ED food ?
Once, I'm buying noodles from a small grocery store, I don't examine the ED. And when we want to consume it, my Hubby found out that the product only 1 day close to the ED, and when we check it out, the product already look bad.
