i had a chihuahua for 8 or 9 years she was my BABYYYYYYY until i had my own children her name was salma, and she was my shadow. she was never happy without me, she couldn't FUNCTION without me. she chose me to be her forever love, and no one else! chihuahua's will find that one special person they will bond with, and usually won't bond with anyone else in the exact same way. but once my children came, she was miserable :( she was never the same dog again, she was stressed out constantly and would 'snap' at my children constantly. she was SO jealous. and it's understandable because she was my baby for so long before my own children came. has anyone else had similar situations? does anyone have a chihuahua that is fine with small children? likes other people? i had to say bye to mine :( and gave her to a foster home where she'd get the love and attention she so needed..but i always worry about her n think about her :(

Hi, Sorry you had to give your little Salma to a foster home. I had a chihuahua named Cindy, i got her when she was two year's old and we had a very strong bond. she didn't like little children or men but she like older aldult's. i got her when i lived in New Jersey and she moved with me to Florida in 2003. she lived for sisteen year's and was my baby,my only child as i am not married and don't have children of my own. i even bought her own little bed, but when she did not feel good she wanted to sleep with me, because it made her feel better knowing her mommy was taking care of her. :)
