So, tomorrow night the Idols have to sing a song from their year of birth - not an easy task in my book. So, I was wondering. Imagine you had a great voice like the idols and you had to perform a song from YOUR year of birth...which song would you choose?
I was born in 1988 - I would choose The Way You Make Me Feel - Michael Jackson. I know it has already been done this season, but its not like I'm going to actually perform it! lol
So, what year were you born and what would you sing? (And, if you are interested, do you think this would be hard to do in real life? I do!)

Any song wouldn't be bad. Before this year they had to pick a #1 song and the number one songs from 1980 are HORRIBLE. Kenny Rogers' Lady which is a vocal nightmare (in a good way, it's just a really hard song), Blondie's Call Me (another vocal nightmare), Lipps' Funky Town (yikes)....
But any song... I could sing Holiday in Cambodia! I just found it on a list of songs from the 80's. I thought it was older than that.
Seriously, though... Probably Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. About five years ago, my friend was the head bartender at this little pub (max. capacity like 100 people and then you couldn't move to breathe) and she'd play that song on the jukebox at least once a night almost every night she worked. And she'd sing along at the top of her voice. I went back to the same bar a few months ago and even though she wasn't there I played the song for her. It reminds me of her and it's a very beautiful song.

I agree - I am not a fan of the 80s music but I was able to find a few in my year of birth that weren't completely horrible. I haven't heard of Romeo and Juliet. I will have to check it out. Thanks for responding!!!

I would choose melodies of yester years from Indian film music I can tell you those who understand hindi lyrics will be floored by them.It is unlike english songs which any enlish speaking person will understand. But nevertheless great listening.
