Does anyone here use Kettlebells to exercise? email this discussion to a friend?

I have been doing some training with Kettlebells recently, and I am really enjoying it. It seems to be a good way of building strength, and also improving conditioning at the same time. There are plenty of videos on the next showing various kettlebell exercises and routines, and a kettlebell is fairly cheap to buy.
Does anyone else train with Kettlebells?

I love using kettlebells. I have a small one I keep at work for stress relief and stretching, and my heavier one at home. I like how kettlebelling does both strength training and conditioning. My flexibility has improved quite a bit as well, and my knee is much more stable. I've only studied Pavel's Enter the Kettlebell book and DVD so far, but I would eventually like to go to a personal trainer or a gym for more ideas and to make sure I'm doing it right. Fortunately I live in an area that is pretty hot for kettlebells, so I'll be able to find a trainer when I can afford one.

Do you have a specific routine that you follow? I'm working on getting through the Rite of Passage. I can't do a Turkish Getup yet at all on my right side. I'm hoping eventually my knee will be able to handle that.

try holding a kettlebell in each hand and do a walking lunge. Those are great for your quads. Watch your knee thoug, be sure the knee does not extend past the toe.

Thanks! I'll have to give that a try.

I do use them for a couple of things but I am stuck in my ways and I prefer the dumbells and barbells. Its almost impossible to do a bench press with a kettlebell. Also if doing a curl for some reason the 44 lbs kettles hurt my thumbs but the 40 pound dumbells do not. surrender
