I never been to Mexico my whole life, but I plan a trip during this year. Probably during the summer time. I heard that Mexico city is quite impressive with all the modern buildings, with bustling streets. But watch out for the gang crimes in the local street too. Cancun is another place for people who loves beaches. Vera cruz is another place with nice beaches. So, what other places are good to go with beaches and relaxing sceneries?

Hi Clorissa, where I live is lovely, small fishing villages with beautiful beaches. I am on the Gulf Coast of Mexico about 4 1/2 hours from Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. The people are lovely and friendly and the seafood is delicious and inexpensive. I am about 30 minutes away from Merida which is the capital city of the Yucatan, it is a gorgeous city full of Spanish architecture. It is known as the white city because it is so clean and the rooftops are mainly white to deflect the sun. It is a place of culture, artisans, handicrafts and hammocks mingle with symphony orchestras and mariachi bands. It is also known as the safest city in Mexico, it has over a million people in it, but is still safe and tranquil. Also a couple of hours away is Chichen Itza home of the mayan ruins that are one of the new 7 wonders of the world. If you decide to come this way, let me know, I would love to meet you. Also as maxima said, Tulum is beautiful. I used to live in Playa Del Carmen and have been there many times, the only mayan ruins on the Caribbean in Mexico. Myself I wouldn't recommend Cancun, it is like Miami in Mexico, it has no original flavor at all. Let me know if I can help you with anything!

I love it in Tulum in Mexico. It has some Mayan ruins by the coastline and miles of palm fringed beaches. It is wonderful to sleep in a thatched beach hut and hear the waves crash against the shore at night. To get there I flew into Cancun and took a bus via Playa de Carmen. Mexico is a lovely country.
