Have you ever been refused treatment at an Emergency Room (ER)

My nephew in the US was running a fever and when they called up the ER, they were told that they could come only if the fever was 104 degrees - otherwise take some tylenol and see the doc with a regular appointment. In India any hospital that has an ER usually sees all patients - especially children. Of course some people misuse this option. How about you - have you ever been refused treatment at an ER?

If they are uninsured and have a seemingly minor problem - do they get seen or asked to come later?
