I guess this could go with the "Do you parents suck?" thread in a way. My mother used to do this when I was young, she always told me that who's son is perfect or better than me or something,I was really frustrating when I heard that and sometimes it just anoyyed me. Does this ever happen to you guys? And do you guys get compared to your parent's friends children?

Hi ktosea, good day to you my co-mylotter. Well, when i was a kid and in grade three. My mother always compare me with my cousin, she always compare me with my height, body weight, attitute and behavior. Everytime she do this thing i really feel mad, especially whe she compare me with the grade i get in school to the grade of my cousin. The grade oe my cousin is very high then my grade is average enough, with this matter i really that my mother really don't proud with me even though i am his son and besides i feel that her proud with my cousin that always got higher grades in school. I can't say to my mother that i really got jealous with my cousin because i know jealous is some kind of attitude where you show being selfish with your self. As i remember my mother told this thing to me and it's already past, that's why i 'm keeping it as a lesson and advice which my mother told me. But one day my mother go with me and we talk for a little moment with that matter and she told me that she was very proud with me, the tears are gently fall downs the i really happy with that and she told me that she is not comparing me with other, she only just want me too know that "if he can do that, you can also do that more" and with that statement that my mother told me, i became more inspired with my stttdy and everything that surrounds me. Well, in my own understanding. The reason why most of the parents compare their child to other people because they want to know fopq their child this "if he can do that, you can also do that more", but the problem is since they were all young and just a kid. They misinterpret that situation regarding with the comparison, some how comparison is not only bad but also good most of the time. That's all my response with your discussion! Happy posting and happy earning here in this site. God bless and thank you very much!

When I was younger my parents compared me to other kids, and even my own siblings. But now, no one really tries to compare me to anyone, which is a relief. And even if they did, I really don't think I would care. I'm doing the best I know how to, and that's good enough for me!

It's stuff like comparing other people that makes our world the way it is now. If people didn't compare each other as much, we would have less conflicts with other countries, school passing rate higher, etc.
