Should a Politician retire after 60??  | |  Hi everyone,most of the politicians now a days are aged above 60.Now,people working in the government offices retire at the age of 60.
So,don't you think the same rule should also be applied on the politicians.
Also,most of our populations consists of young peoples,so,according to me,only younger ministers can understand our feelings and sentiments.
So,we need dynamic and enthusiastic leaders who can take a country in the right path.

| | | 2. tea512 (625) | 9 months ago |  jimmy 87 a valid question and point well made. The problem is in mid term election most of the voters are age 50 - 80. This is going to be even a higher percentage as the baby boomer's out number gen x & y. This will be tough one to push through. I live in Massachusetts where Ted Kennedy has been in office since he was 36 and has won six re-elections. I wish we could have gotten rid of him 10 years ago.

| | | 3. xfahctor (5442) | 9 months ago |  though we have a customary retirement age here in the U.S. and an age where people become eligable for social security, there is no law that requires people to retire at a certain age. Many people constitue to work beyond retirement age if they feel they are able. For some it is purely an economic decision, for others, they simply enjoy working and being active so they see no need to stop.
