What's the attraction? Is it just a social club? A chat room? A place to waste time, like on mylot? LOL It now has 2 million members. So what is it's purpose and attraction?

I know that for me, it is just another way to keep in contact with family. Some of my family members on Facebook are not on Myspace.

Facebook is where you keep in touch with your real friends and family. You put up your photo and any other photos, send them notes. You can make your list private, or public. It is sort of like a message board like you have with your cell phone, but instead of writing the message on your cell, you leave little notes. It will also be used by a certain group, such as maybe you love Rachel Ray, she has a facebook and you write notes such as "I loved your recipe for ---does it taste the same if I substitute ---" or you are a writer, or learning to write, so a famous writer has a face book, and he gives you hints. etc I have a facebook account with my church friends. I do check now and again, but most of the time I am busy on myLot.

I'm not on it but my (grown) children are. My son in law is in public relations and he has a Facebook page. A few years ago I saw stories about young kids getting upset or in trouble due to some things said about them or to them on it. I don't hear that so much any more. A lot of professional people use it to network for and due to their jobs. I would guess it is kind of a blog/social/chat room thing. Like I say I am not on it, those family members on it like it.

My daughter joined and for her it's an OK thing I suppose. She has reunited with people she went to school with and it was kind of neat to learn where everyone was living, what careers they chose and of course the obvious are you married and how many kids do you have? It would be useless for me because I didn't go to school in this province and to try and find people now just isn't my thing. I love myLot and I have some very good contacts here.

I think its like myspace. I have a myspace but rarely ever go to it. I realy don't like myspace that much. I once let my granddaughter check hers and she got me a bad virus, needless to say, she is no longer allowed on my computer.

I'ts a place to waste time. A lot of my relatives are there and it's fun to play with the applications. I also like the Addicted to Lost page and do the trivia there. But, otherwise, I haven't really found much value in it. I don't like to go out in the community because a lot of the people on that site are not very nice and some are downright nasty. So, I mostly stick with the people I know on there.

the only reason why I joined facebook was because most of my family is on there. my cousin got married the same year as I did, and with the family on there, we both decided to put wedding albums up, so that everyone could see our wedding pictures on the internet.

It's a great place to find old friends and family. And just be silly. There are a tons of quizzes to take, you can even make your own if you don't see any that suit you. I found 3 family members that I had lost touch with and lots of people from my past. It's a great way to keep up with what everyone is up to and to pick on people. Quite a few of my myLot friends are there. A couple even quit myLot and only post there now.
