Sooo frustrating... |
|
I love the icon for this category...it's just how I feel. I need some help please all you gurus. My mouse is behaving erratically. It's jerky, slow and I have to keep unplugging it and replugging it into the USB port. I have a new mouse but it won't work at all. The USB port seems to be a bit loose.
I also updated and ran all my virus scans and cleaners.
Any suggestions?

11. mtdewgurl74 (10337) | 9 months ago | My computer mouse has been giving me pains in the derrière for the last few days. The pointer won't move from it's spot. I have unplug, replug, and the only way o get it working again for awhile is to restart my computer and even then sometimes it will freeze again the mouse pointer nothing else on the computer does though. My mom bough a new mouse and hers isn't working at all either so I am hoping you will get yours fix soon I know how frustrating it can be.

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | I was just about to answer this and saw your Mum's response below. It must be a virus then that we have caught from one another. I'm at a loss what to do as I have done everything suggested here and a few other things and I've had no luck. I could accept that my mouse was worn out but I don't understand why the new one won't work at all. Looks like I'll be taking my laptop for a drive to the experts in the next town.

mtdewgurl74 (10337) | 9 months ago | I didn't have the problem before but I have changed mouse pads recently but doubt that is it..I have a desktop computer so if yours is a mouse problem from a laptop then I am totally clueless. my mom bought a mousse for a laptop recently. Hope she gets her going soon..

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | There's no difference between a mouse from a desk top to a mouse from a lap top...they are interchangeable.

mtdewgurl74 (10337) | 9 months ago | What I meant is that my mom has a wireless one. and I have one that isn't a USB port plugged.

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | Oh, I see, I've never had a wireless type anything...'cept for my laptop which is connected to it's router with a wireless card.

mtdewgurl74 (10337) | 9 months ago | Could b something we both downloaded that is interfering..I cleaned my mouse and checked the ports and so far it has been a few hours since it froze..so I am hoping that it won't do it again anytime soon.

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | Mine was being jerky a few days ago then it was freezing. Mine has a blue light at the front and a red light at the back...only the blue light is on and I think that just means it's connected the red light is the serious workings of it. Not that any of this is important.

| 13. Steeldeath (5) | 9 months ago | if you have the mouse with the ball under it that makes the mouse on the moniter move then all you need to do is open the bottom of it and clean out any dirt thats collected in there.
if its the red light mouse then you can just wipe the frame so that theres no stuff on the frame blocking the light from getting out.
sometimes the simplest stuff can cause really annoying problems..

16. Darkwing (7519) | 9 months ago | The only other thing I can think might be making your mouse feel poorly and sluggish is that he might need a clean out inside, but then, you've probably already done that my friend. I can't think what else it might be unless the port connection is so loose that it's not kicking in properly.
Brightest Blessings in the hope you find a solution soon. xx

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | At one point I got an Error code 43 which means something wrong with the device (a big help at stating the obvious). But that doesn't explain why the new one does not work. I'm no closer to figuring it out my friend ... brightest blessings..

Darkwing (7519) | 9 months ago | Oh boy! If the new one doesn't work, then it definitely sounds like a connection problem of some sort. Do you have any IT-wise friends?

17. fjaril (4507) | 9 months ago | Hallooo my friend! I know ever so much less about this business than you, but my first instinct would be to plug it into someone else's computer and see if the behaviour is the same( assuming of course THAT person has no trouble with the port you are trying your mouse in) That would identify what ISNT the problem maybe?
But I really wanted to say hi and that I missed you since I have been gone! Happy Spring to you!! and good luck with this miserable problem.
PS.. is your mouse old?? or in heat? or pregnant?) O I know.. but it is spring and I am so silly then.. and so very happy too. but still sorry you have this problem!!

18. royal52gens (3328) | 9 months ago | I see many people have shared some really good ideas for you to try. I hope you have been able to clear the problem so you can enjoy your computer more. I have actually worn out a few mouse's/mice. I have to replace my mouse about every two years.

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | Hi royal...I'm thinking that my aged mouse is the problem but I can't figure out why the new mouse won't work at all. I even tried a system restore but there was no change in the mouse (non) function.*sigh* it's such a pain.

19. poohgal (2953) | 9 months ago | Is it your mouse or your computer? If it's your mouse, perhaps you should just change it. If it's the USB port, do try to plug your mouse into another USB port.
If it's the computer, you should bring your computer for servicing.

20. mummymo (11642) | 9 months ago | Tickle honey I ma very late in getting here and answering from email so may be being repetitive! My first thought was that you should take out the tracking ball and give it and inside the mouse a clean but since you have tried another mouse it seems unlikely that is the cause. Is it possible for you to try a wireless mouse? You can buy them quite cheaply on Ebay or Amazon etc. Hope you get it fixed sweety! xxxx

MsTickle (8966) | 9 months ago | Hi Mo sweety. I actually tried everything I could think of and in frustration bought another second hand laptop and took mine to be serviced. I hope it's something simple. At least I have a back-up now...I simply cannot go without my Internet...lol.

|
|
mummymo (11642) | 9 months ago | LOL Now that is good thinking! was it the built in mouse in your laptop? Cos that just might have needed calibrating? Heres hoping it is something cheap and easy to fix and that you have both laptops at home soon! Hugs xxx
