I love the icon for this category...it's just how I feel. I need some help please all you gurus. My mouse is behaving erratically. It's jerky, slow and I have to keep unplugging it and replugging it into the USB port. I have a new mouse but it won't work at all. The USB port seems to be a bit loose.

I also updated and ran all my virus scans and cleaners.

Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with a USB port on my laptop (my old, old one). I did everything I could think of to fix it, even getting a super fine paint brush and dusting it out, but nothing worked.

Not being very computer literate, I finally resorted to asking my husband, who is more computer savvy than I, and he found a few bent pins. Once they were (very, very carefully) straightened out, the USB was once again usable. Pitty my mouse had been destroyed in the meantime by a mischevious 3 year old!

I took it to the repairer but I don't think she did anything. I tried and tried and the mouse and cursor would work for a little while then go all erratic again. I've had a look and I can't see any pins in my usb connectors...only metal connect points. This is all so frustrating. I finally got the opportunity to take the other laptop back to the techie last Monday...it's now Saturday. She took notes and said she would ring me the following day and I have not heard from her. sigh. cry
