Do you make the appetizers when you have company?

So many people buy the appetizers for a company diner. I used to do that too before my husband died. Now I have to live more frugally and I have discovered that frugal sometimes is better. I used to buy potato chips, cream cheese, some olives and other things like that. Now I make sweet peppers or mushrooms in olive oil, zuchinni and eggplant paste, marinated raw cawliflower with homemade mayo (with a clove of garlic). Do you buy or make yours? If you make them: what do you do? Share please

I used to make honey barbecue chicken wings for my friends when they came over but then I realized that once the wings were gone, they were on their way out the door so now I just put out chips and soda. The effort I put into the chicken was being taken for granted and once I switched up, I saw everyone started behaving differently. So now I just keep it simple and wait for someone to ask about the chicken...

Yes, I like apetizers very much. I like Tomoto Soup. Because I thing it provides ultimate taste to my tongue. Apart from that it is also good for my health as well.

I make mine. Usually little finger foods, sausage stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped prawns, little smokies wrapped in puff pastry. Nothing fancy, but people like that it's not the same old mini quiches and stuff you just get at the super market. I find that it really doesn't take that long, unless you are having a ton of people over, and then I just recruit some friends to help. I find it more rewarding when I get complements and cheaper too!
