Well we finally got our water on! Hubby and his brother starting digging the hole for the water line Saturday and hubby finished it up by himself Sunday. He started on the water lines in the house yesterday and we would have had water last night but one of the lines cracked so we had to wait until we could go back to the hardware today to get the new line. So we got the new line and he hooked it all up and now we have water!
For those who have no idea what I am talking about, check out my other discussions about the water situation on our road to find out what we have been through all these years.
Now it is finally over! I just got done doing dishes and it was so much faster not having to wait for the water to heat up and then cool down. It was so much easier. I am getting ready to take a shower here soon. Last night I took my very last sponge bath! No more carrying water, no more heating up water! Woo Hoooooooooo!!!!!!!!
Can you tell I'm very, very happy! :)

Thanks! Yes it is rather nice! A hot shower anytime I want, doing the dishes the way I am supposed to without heating water up. I love it! We do have a water bill to pay now but it is worth it and I make enough money online where I can help pay for it. I just took a shower not too long ago and it was really nice! :)

Our bill will be about $40 a month! Not too bad and it is worth it! Now today I am cleaning my bathroom and it won't take me as long as usual since I don't have to heat the water up. I am also going to get my floors done because it has been raining here and there is mud everywhere from the dogs. I am loving this running water! :)

Good for you! I still think it should have been done for you. Maybe your husband should send them a bill.

Yeah, he should, lol. They sent us a water bill before we even had our water on. My husband called them and told them we weren't paying anything until the water was on.
It should have been done for us but they refused. Then two days after he finished digging the hole, some guys from the water department stopped and asked if he needed it done. What nerve they had! If they really wanted to do it they should have done it a long time ago or said they were going to do it. They are the ones who said they weren't going to do it. A bunch of idiots!

As much trouble as you had, I would not have been surprised if you told me they stopped to inspect it to make sure it was done right.

Ha, when he called to tell them he had it done and turned it on himself, they said they were going to send someone out to check it. They haven't yet but I will not be surprised if they actually do. :)

That's fantastic news. One doesn't realize how much we take for granted when we don't have it any longer, like a simple thing like having running water. The same could be said about electricity. A few times in the past the electricity in the apartment building was shut off to do rewiring..all day without electricity until the early evening hours....no TV, no radio..no COMPUTER!! Went out of my mind.
Now you can feel "civilized" again, right? LOL

Yeah it is still taking me some time to realize I don't have to heat it up anymore, lol. Oh I know about the electricity problems. We had to go without for 4 days one summer when the whole street went out. It was so hot and we couldn't use an air conditioner or a fan. It was miserable. It was on my birthday too!
Yes now we feel civilized! It is amazing to actually have running water and lots of water pressure. When we first moved in we had running water but it was from a cistern because we live out in the boonies. The pressure was almost non existent and it sucked. We would have to wait about an hour or two for the cistern to fill back up in between dishes and taking baths. Now we don't have to do that anymore and it is awesome! We love it! :)
