| how to console an exam flunker?  | | | |  My friend took the bar examination last year. The result was announced a few days ago. Admittedly, the bar exam is the most excruciatingly difficult examinations in the Philippines. They have to take it for four whole Sundays and answer all essay type questions. Not to mention about memorizing all the laws. In short, my friend flunked the exam and I just don't know how to console her. I don't even want to mention that I already know the results and that she didn't make it. I might say something that would offend her instead of consoling and encouraging her. What should be done?

| |  Personally that is not one of the Best places to be in. You want to be comrforting to them letting them know you care, but at the same time not ready for them to find out the results until it is really best to do so. So this can be caught between a rock and a hard place, and you need to find out for yourself how you need to change things as well.

| |  Well i think the best way to console an exam flunker is to ignore that she failed. You know like act as if it's nothing (...even if it's something). It will make her move on fast since she don't think it's such a big deal that she failed. Just tell her to make it next time then that's it. Trying to console her is just prolonging her frustrations. There's always next time, at least 3 next times.
