 okay so i've been called an alcoholic. but i hate alcohol. i just like how it makes me feel. I can even go days without drinking. am i an alcoholic? lol.

Do you function poorly because of drinking, have you had problems on the job, problems with friends, do you need the drink to get through the day and is it interfering with your life if you drink too much? I don't know if you are an alcoholic from the amount of info you provided, but if you are worried about it I know there are websites from AA that talk about how to know if you an alcoholic, check one out.

3.  anotherxidentity (880) | 8 months ago |  For me I consider someone an alcoholic if they drink everday or every other day basis. Its not that they don't have to - be they want to. Because at that point you are kind of becoming addicted.
Also there are some people that will call someone an alcoholic if they tend to get WASTED every single weekend. Everyone might not share the view, and I don't know if I would call someone an alcoholic for it but I wouldn't think too highly of them either. Its a shame what weekends can do to people - you would think people would learn how to stay somewhat decent.

| muscles4me (8528) | 7 months ago | If someone is to the point that they have to measure their blood alcohol level it certainly would indicate a problem with alcohol I would think. Try going to a bar and ordering one drink, the order a second but just have half and walk away. Try this more than once. If you feel uncomfortable leaving the second drink or find you can not stop in the middle of the second drink then you MIGHT be alcoholic BUT onlt that person can call themselves an alcoholic. Another thing these are your friends saying this, so do you think they would say that if they were not concerned? | |
