Ive been an asthmatic for 17yrs im not sure how i acqiured it but now that im 29 it sems to be more out of control than ever. I believe that asthma meds have just made me more sensitive and prone to triggers they only seem to aleviate the symptoms and not cure the problem if you stop using and have nalready become dependent it seems that ur more suseptible once you stop and my true question is what long term effect can and wiil this have on our lungs and as well as how much are we limited as far as been able to do the things an athlete would be able to achieve thats what really worries me. I once paticipated in a double blinded placeebo for an asthma study but could not finish the term of the study because my abuterol inhaler that I use for accute attacks was substituted for a different inhalor that nor the MD. or I were aware of what it truly was so used my prescribed inhalor to get relief and that insantly disqualified me from the study. The worst part about my astma is that I have an alergy to atrovent and advair mainly because im allergic to peanuts, among a wide range of food allergies i also posses. Yet i really do believe that there may be a natual way to nuralize athma attacks other than so many meds that ultamately can have side affects on my overal health. Well as far as natural foods that might be beneficial to asthma Ive read that bluebeerries "mmm, how delicious" "if we could only get doctors to prescribe us that, huh" and white grapefruit juice "acquired taste or must have no taste buds to dink that".

I am sorry you have continued to suffer from asthma. I had it when I was a child and it went away when I was 17. I dont have any lasting effects that I know of from using the inhaler. I used to always get those horriable shots at the hospital that make your heart beat fast. I always wonder if thats why I get anxiety attacks now. I hope you find something to help you.

I know what you mean inhale But i don't get no results. I don't know but, for me when I just fight my asthma with my self then I feel better. My opinion is not to use the pump and try fighting it your self. I'm not saying to stop your medication because i don't know how bad your asthma is. See i only get astma like twice a year but when i get I get it bad sometimes it stays for like a week or two. people have different stage of asthma. If you are some what like me give it a try if no results then keep taking your medication.
