I made a vow to myself last week

And so far, I'm sticking to it as best as I can.
Last week I got so sick from eating fowl chicken that I vowed to start eating differently.
I suffer from IBS, it leans more towards the "I can't stay out of the bathroom" end of it, and it really affects my life.
When I'm working, I can't get to a bathroom if I need to, so I realized that I need to make a change.
I still need to get my thyroid checked for decreased T3 and T4 production, I weigh 187LBS and stand only 5'2" tall, so I'm considered obese, despite hiding it well.
But, last summer, I was working outside in the heat, should have been losing weight, but never lost a pound. I didn't gain anything either, so that was a good thing. That's what makes me think it's a thyroid condition.
Despite this fact, I am a junkfood addict, and that's a problem. But even if I don't eat junk, I still gain weight, and I can't deal with it anymore.
The last straw, besides getting sick last week, was not being able to fit into pants that I wore just this past summer.
I have one pair of pants that fit, nothing else, so I had to take a trip to a Value Village over the weekend to get a few pairs that would fit.
It's embarrassing, to be told that I'm fat, so I know I should make a change.
So, I'll be swearing off junk food, and will be eating healthy. I know it wont be easy, I have my faults and will fall off the wagon more than once, but at least I can still try.
To start however, I will just be slowing down on what junk I eat so it's not a cold turkey withdrawal, which I can't handle.
As time goes on, hopefully I'll be able to give it up completely and lose weight, and get my life back on track.
My diet will start on Sunday, that should give me a bit of time to wean off most of what I've been eating lately.
I have to keep positive, and tell myself that I can do this, but can only work one day at a time, one step at a time.
I hope that over the coming summer months, I am able to lose some weight and feel better. The excess weight is killing my back.
Wish me luck.
