Books, Books, Books and More Books . . . I Love 'Em All!!!

I think people are as passionate about the books they read as they are about politics or similar subjects! Have you ever heard two or more people discussing (or arguing) over the same book they all have read and all have a different opinion? It stimulates the soul and gets the blood flowing! Can you tell I am an avid, avid reader? Yes, indeed, I am. When I get into a good book, I will stay up all night to finish it 'cause I just can't put it down until I see how it ends. Have you ever done that? How many of you have read the last chapter to see how it turns out befor finishing the boook? Shame on you!!! Have you ever "lost yourself" in the pages of a wonderful book to the point you lose interest in everything around you; sight, sound, etc.; where the last thing you want is to be bothered until you turn the last page of that wonderful book! I have several favorite authors: Julie Garwood (she's awesome -- try her out and I think you will agree), Jude Devereaux (she is the best of the best; she has turned out many, many page turners 'til the end that I couldn't put down and she writes in several genres. Don't buy a book by her. Go to your local library and rent a book by her and give her a trial run and I think you will agree with me. Then if you DO like her, by all means, go to a book store or book club and definitely buy a book or two by her. I don't think you'll be disappointed!) My third writer is (and most of you know her) Mary Higgins Clark. She needs no write up. She writes clean, yet suspenseful mysteries which keep you occupied until the very last page. Well worth a look see. Finally, not to let out the gentlemen, my last choice is the most famous James Patterson who also needs no introduction. He writes gritty true-to-life murder mysteries, with believable characters who also keeps you glued to your seat until the very end. A very good read each and every time. With all the wonderful writers out there, my little list sure was difficult hard to trim down, but these four were my favorite. Let me know if you've read any of them and if not, if you plan to. Keep on reading and working out those brains! Happy reading!

I also read widely and avidly. The only thing that I do not read is science fiction, I just can't stand it! I like James Patterson but my favourite mystery writer is Elizabeth Goudge. Have you read anything by her? I also adore Patricia Cornwall - now she is absolutely amazing. I just do not want to put down anything that she has written. Boty books by her and E;lizaberth Goudge I re read and so I do not donate these books to the local cancer society for sale. I just know that I will re read them again and again. Good post
