In my country Nepal, on the mother's day, people buy lot of nice food specially fruits and sweets and hand them over to their mother. Also while handing these things, people touch the feet of the mother and the mother gives blessings to the child. This is an old custom of Nepal, which is don't not only on the occasion of the Mother's day, but in many occasions in order to show respect to the older people. Some people also give their mothers new clothes and other gifts rather than gifts only. But foods are like compulsory thing, Not written that you should, but people get mentally ready for giving foods. Apart from this the bride in a family is helped preparing the food by her mother in law and her husband to get ready for her to go to her mother's home and celebrate mothers day.
