Oatmeal Glass or Bowls.

Some of the older women at work were talking about this yesterday and once I had brought in a bowl of homemade potatoe salad using one of my grandmother's old glass bowls. She started telling me about how back in the day bowls came with the purchase of oatmeal. She said the bowl I had looked like that type of glass. Which it is a heavy, durable thing and it's the perfect size for a small container of potatoe salad for a potluck.
So do you know anything about this oatmeal glass or oatmeal bowls? Are they collectibles or anything? I keep mine out of sentiment because of my granmother, but I am curious.

oatmeal glass is very collectible. it is so durable unlike some glass that people use it more often than they would other things that were handed down. it came in a clear glass an a dark green. i use to have alot of the green but i sold it a long time ago. it was mass produced so there is still alot of it around.
