For those of you who are married and had a bridal shower: What was your favorite gift that you received at either your shower or your wedding? I'm going to a good friend of mine's shower today. I purchased her gifts off of her registry and they were both gifts that I thought I would enjoy also. My bridal shower is actually next weekend! I'm anxious to see if I get mostly gifts off of my registry or if people go on their own. Anyways, what was your favorite bridal shower gift? What was your favorite wedding gift?

The sad thing is I have been married for 13 years and I dont really remember what I got from my wedding or shower...besided the money gifts and the things we registered for because we were just starting out and that is what we needed the most. I did get my invitation to my wedding put in a picture frame ...since I didnt have any invititions that we kept for ourselves that was a very nice present that we got from the wedding night...so I would have to say that since that is what I remember the most!! LOL good luck and have fun at the shower!!

My favorite gift to give is also my favorite to give. I like to give a laundry basket full of items. (they make smaller baskets for tough times and bigger baskets for those who have a little more money to spend). I will put the essentials in it that everybody needs: paper towels, dish rags, lotion, dish soap, a few pretties such as a vase or picture frame. You can make them personalized for each event, a new bride may get pampering items that can be used with her husband. I have filled baskets with cleaning supplies, baby items, and even one for a langerie shower for a good friend. I use laundry baskets because everyone uses them. This year my sister and I have decided to go in together and buy these gifts for the showers we are both invited to. The one thing that I have noticed about this is the surprised look at getting things they never thought of, or in many cases, the bride was young and it was not until she started to set up her home that she realized that those paper towles and cleaning supplies, although not glamorus, were very much needed and left her budget open for other things.

this response might be a little late, but the best gift you could give to a bride is something that she could use even after the honeymoon night. the lingerie is sooo common and it's not really the essence of being a wife. so, as corny as it may sound, for me the best gift would be something she could also use in surprising her husband, a cook book!
