I am getting married soon and my fiance and I just discussed the traditions in relation to the wedding cake. We have to cut the first piece of the cake together (both holding the same knife) and then we have to eat the same piece of cake. We can't just eat it, we have to feed eachother. What is it like in your country? Do you have a similar tradition? Or do you have other traditions or superstition in relation to the wedding cake?

How nice! Congratulation in advance. We have no such tradition. In our tradition bride and bridegroom offer sweets to each other and both eat reciprocally. It happens after solemnization of marriage. There is similarity between your tradition and ours tradition.

My fiancee and I are getting married in June! We actually just recently picked out our song for the cake cutting. There is this great song called Cut the Cake - you should check it out! :-) We will be holding the knife together and cutting that first piece and then feeding each other. Hopefully he doesen't smash it in my face, lol. We already agreed to be "nice" to each other with the cake, haha. But you know how that changes on the wedding day! lol

Thanks for your response. I have never heard about that song, but I will try to find it. My parents have offered to pay for the cake, they already picked it out, but I have no idea what it looks like. It will be a surprice for us

I had to do alike your wedding too.I didn't have a problem.I ate only a spoon for this tradition. The cake had only 2 pounds and the second and third floor are the fake cakes.
