My son's plane leaves at 7:30, so I had to have him at the airport around 6:00am. I woke up around 4:30, wondering if the alarm got set. I had planned on getting up around 5am, but that half hour is going to hit me hard later! It seems like I was just picking my son up the other day, but it's been about 3 weeks. He's on his way back to Japan and we probably wont see him for another 2 years. After that, he has at least another 4 years in the Navy, but we don't know where he'll be stationed. At least this time he was home I got to get a few pictures of him - I think... I haven't looked at the camera yet!

That was a quick three weeks. It must have been so sad to see him go,but at least he is doing what he loves ,seeing the world and having so many different experiences. It is just a shame he has to be so far away.xxx

I'm hoping to be able to save up some money and go visit him! That would be awesome!

Hey reiny~ Wow, those three weeks sure did go fast. I'm sure that they really went way too fast for you. I am glad that you at least had the time to spend with your son. I do hope that you will be able to see him again before two more years go by. That's a long time to not see him. I hope you had some really wonderful times together. I'm sure you did. I think that it's great that he is in the Navy and he is doing what he likes.

We did have some good times while he was here, although I feel like I hardly saw him at all. He might make it back before 2 years, but I doubt it. I know this is the best thing for him - there are no jobs around here for him!

My first husband was in the Navy and made WestPac tours to Sasebo Japan. He loved it there and loved the Japanese people. That did not make us miss him any less. Military is a unique career and he is special for serving in the military for the rest of us.

I am very proud of him, and I know it's probably best for him to NOT be here right now (his friends aren't the greatest). I just wish he'd come home more than once every 18 months. He does love it over there too, that's why when we re-enlisted he only did it if they would let him stay there. They only guaranteed him 2 more years there, and the next 4 will be somewhere else - hopefully not state-side...

I am sure you hated to see this day come. Too bad he couldn't have stayed longer but it is great that he got to come for the 3 weeks. I can't believe that they don't let them come back home for 2 years. I know I would not like that at all. I hope you can get some rest today.

Part of his not coming back for a while is that he doesn't know how to save his money so he can buy a plane ticket! But, that's ok, he's doing some great stuff and that's good for him. I do miss him already and he's not even back to his apartment yet!
