Last year, my mom had a mild stroke. She got her half body paralyze for about a day. My family worried a lot. Good thing we were able to send her immediately to the hospital and got treated. Since then, she has medicine intake to maintain. Even if she is taking her medicine regularly and avoided those prohibition advised by her doctor, there are times that her blood pressure goes up. We don't know why. We are hoping we can cure her illness. We are afraid to lose her. Can you help me?

I just did a speech on strokes in one of my classes. There are so many reasons, I had to look back at one of the pages I printed off the internet. One of the reasons that causes high blood pressure is stress. this is what the article said. because stress may increase blood pressure, It is linked indirectly to stroke risk. A one-time stressful event rarely causes a stroke, but long-term unresolved stress can contribute to high blood pressure. Stress management, including relaxation techniques, boifeedback, exercise and counseling, appear to be useful in the treatment of high blood pressure, thus lowering the risk of stroke. I hope this helps.

Your response is helpful. Stress could be the reason why my mother had problem with her blood pressure. She is a teacher. Maybe she needs to have an early retirement.
