Like in the movie,Chris Gardner, went through some really harsh and severe situations. He went from a total failure to a complete success. The movie mostly portrays his struggle in life, and how his perseverance pays off in the end. His struggle is what is mainly focused in the entire movie.
It would not be a good movie if it only depicted his years of success. Cause you need to see the "pain behind the fame". Without seeing the toil and turmoil that he had to go through, we would not be able to appreciate and value Chris's success.
He had to climb uphill to reach the summit. There were strong winds and stormy nights like for instance, His wife left him for good, leaving with him their son, He had to sell all the x-ray machines(bone density scanners) which he thought was the right investment, He become homeless and broke and had to support himself and his son with nothing in hand.
He fought against all odds, against all oppositions, but never did he let that belittle him.
I love this one dialogue of his when he's having a conversation with his son.
"Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it.You want something, go get it. Period. All right?"
Isn't that a positive statement to live by??...
The question I would like to pose here is, do you have similar stories where you can relate to Chris Gardner.??
