any pain killers that aren't safe to take?

Good Question.

If all the pain killers are not safe means, it would not be in the markets.
Generally all the mild to moderate pain killers like Paracetamol, Brufen,
( Tylenol, Advil ) will be effective for headache, fever and all types of pain.

So I am advising you to take this pain killer, when you really need that otherwise
don't use . Yes it is not safe, when you are going to use frequently.

all pain killers are okay to take or shall i say safe if you use them they way you are supose to if you mis use any meds they can be unsafe, so when you use any meds use them the way you are supose to and you should be fine.

I really dont think any are safe...they all have their bad qualities. You have to figure out if it is worth the consequences. I think addiction is the worse thing of it all. Noone wants to or plans to become addicted.

Ibuprofen and other painkillers known as NSAIDs should only be used by older adults with "extreme caution," the American Geriatric Society (AGS) announced this week. The warning was part of new guidelines issued in May but published this month in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

Revising chronic pain recommendations for the first time in seven years, the AGS warned that NSAIDs and another class of painkillers, COX-2 selective inhibitors, shouldn't be used by seniors except under rare circumstances. In addition to Motrin and generic ibuprofen, drugs to watch out for include newer over-the-counter painkillers such as naproxen (Aleve), and stronger prescription-strength drugs, such as celecoxib (Celebrex) and indomethacin (Indocin).

Health risks for seniors using NSAIDs include:
• Increased cardiovascular risk.
• Decreased kidney function as a result of less blood flow to the kidneys. This, in turn, can affect the way the body processes other medicines and can increase blood pressure.
• Irritation of the lining of the stomach and bowels, which can cause internal bleeding.


Every year literally tens of thousands of people, mostly elderly, are hospitalized because of NSAIDs

Well none of them are safe when used daily or not as perscribed. BUT if you are recovering from a dental or medical procedure one or to days takingbonce or twice a day should be ok. Also eat a good clean diet low in fats is benefical to keep the meds from being to toxic in our liver. OH and no booze with pills.
